"The great thing about rock (and Uber Rock in particular) is that we never really dismiss anything - we're all lovers of great music no matter what form it takes. I'm more than aware of a few Duran Duran fans among the senior members of this website for example and we've reviewed everything from Nina Persson to Bitch Queens so it will be no surprise that a duo with a distinct rock 'n' roll past have ventured further into electronica and a stripped back but believable '80s 'pop' vibe.

Whilst Will Crewdson will be known to many for his (seemingly endless) CV including Rachel Stamp, Adam Ant and Johnette Napolitano among many guitarist slots with the likes of Bow Wow Wow, Tom Jones and Billy Bragg, it was probably his last solo venture - Scant Regard - that helped him venture further afield than the norm. Whilst that may have been a lo-fi, twangy surf guitar album with serious electronica behind it, the link up with ex-Rachel Stamp keyboard player Shaheena Dax on vocals is the real reason that this works.

They are a simple two piece and whilst the 'rock' focus may be on Crewdson, it's the quality vocal work of Dax that will have your head searching for that 'sounds like' button. She can morph from Transvison Vamp to La Roux without hesitation and that's where this album really gets you (La Roux's fans must surely love this album?).

Yes, I can hear RADIO HIT all over it half these songs but it also has a very cool, laid back vibe floating throughout that you just know the 'hip' kids won't get yet alone understand.

Perfectly executed electro-infused pop is effortlessly achieved throughout this album and anyone with an '80s or electronic itch that needs scratching need look no further than She Made Me Do It. Hooks, choruses and spiky guitar riffs mixed with trance-like synth on every track and you almost wonder why it's taken them both so long to release an album of this nature before?

It may be a long way from Rachel Stamp but the focus on quality has never been greater.

Impressive."

"We once described She Made Me Do It as “Spectral and nocturnal and creepily brilliant in sex music kinda way’ and we stand by every word.

This is the album Madonna dreams of making in 2015 and is the hip swinging modern pop of Charlie XVX cranked through dark wave cloud of melancholy and digital gunk.

She Made Me Do It are a 2 piece band featuring Shaheena Dax (Rachel Stamp) on vocals and keyboards and Will Crewdson (Adam Ant, Rachel Stamp, Scant Regard, Sigue Sigue Sputnik Electronic, Flesh for Lulu, Johnette Napolitano) on guitars, vocals and keyboards.
They make a very 21st century pop music. Or what 21st century pop would sound like if it was any good. This a music full of throbbing late night electronic sex pop full of dark shadows and ghost like sounds. Shaheena sings with a voice full of disconnected dread and darkness and the songs electronic pulsing sound like the best nightclub in the world – place where rock n roll is digitised, the spectral is turned into melody and kinky pop full of sex and death is the norm.

Every song drips ideas and is twisted with a dark wave shadow and a grinding groove that puts the animal into the machine and the flesh into the digi bit click. This is a big and bold swaggering pop, a big gold dream and a chance to remember how vital this stuff once sounded. Like the very early Soft Cell this is an erotic cabaret, a timeless dance, a digital meets analogue bebop and the songs are swooping slices of atmosphere and when Will cuts in with his trademark twanging guitar they really lift off as the six string counterpoints Shaheena’s great vocals."
